The story

In my words

Where it started

I was sixteen when someone handed me a broken computer and said, “If you can fix it, it’s yours.” I didn’t know how. I learned from forums, one late night at a time. Problem-solving came naturally, but not without frustration: that same computer kept breaking on me, in new ways, again and again. Every fix taught me something.

Not long after, I was handed a broken GPS. I couldn’t fix it. Instead, I turned it into a portable video player, at a time when those barely existed or cost a fortune. That’s been my approach ever since: understand the problem, then find the way through.

Through college I worked as an on-call tech for the community, supporting clients around my classes. After graduating I joined a managed-service provider in Manhattan, where I learned the professional side of IT: process, security and accountability.

In 2020 I started You Wreck We Tech to bring that enterprise-level support and professionalism into people’s homes.

Why we’re relaunching

Two of my clients were scammed because they couldn’t reach me. They looked for help elsewhere and found the wrong people. One lost close to $15,000, and the stress that came with it was worse than the money. I can’t control what other people do, but I am responsible for what I do. When he came back to me, we went through everything the scammers had access to, locked it down and strengthened his security, and I charged him half my usual rate because I felt for him. It should never have come to that.

So I’m rebuilding You Wreck We Tech so that no client, past, present or future, is left alone at the wrong moment. That means a small senior team behind every client, help around the clock, and protecting you before something goes wrong instead of only reacting after.

Planning for the hard days

When someone passes, families often scramble to get into the accounts and devices left behind. One client’s computer was tied to her late husband’s Microsoft account. When she turned it on, it asked for a BitLocker recovery key. We only found it because his phone was still signed in to his Gmail and could receive the Microsoft code. Without that, the computer would have been wiped, along with years of family photos.

Every member now gets a digital succession plan: who can get into what, written down and kept safe, so your family is never locked out of the life you built.

What you’re paying for

Our rate is not low, and it isn’t meant to be. You’re paying for people you can trust with the keys to your digital life. Every technician who works with members is tier 2 or above; junior staff may sit in to learn, never to lead. Your point person keeps set hours and knows your setup, and a small team of up to five overlaps around them so someone senior always picks up, 24/7. Home visits happen during set hours, except in a true emergency.

We harden your computers so a break-in becomes very unlikely, and we back up your files so they aren’t lost. Phones are harder to lock down, and we’ll always be straight with you about that. We’re also putting added protections and insurance in place, so that if something ever goes wrong on our watch, you can be made whole.

And we’re building our own AI assistant for members. It knows your setup, so quick questions can be answered without touching your billable hours.

We want trust, loyalty and protection, for our clients and for ourselves. Let’s stay safe in this new tech world, together.
